Why Join the 40-Day Campaign?

As you read this article, the Santa Clara Valley Japanese Church will most likely be in the second or third week of our 40-Days of Purpose Campaign.  A good number of our members are working through Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life, participating in Purpose Driven Life small groups or Sunday School classes and attending our weekly worship services which deal with God’s purposes for our lives.  What are some of the advantages of joining the 40-Day Campaign?

The only cost associated with this 40-Day campaign is the price of Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life.  All the other materials are being supplied by our church so that we can make this an affordable experience for everyone that desires to participate.

The 40-Day campaign is only for 40 days.  Yes, there is a time limit so that no one has to worry about an open ended commitment.  The small group and Sunday School classes are limited to six week commitments.

The 40-Day campaign is manageable.  We know that our church members are really busy with their schedule; therefore, we have tried to make the 40-Day campaign manageable by minimizing our other church activities.  This will hopefully allow our members to read one chapter of Rick Warren’s book a day and to participate in a small group where the people will discuss the topic of the week and to attend our weekly worship services which will reinforce the topics that our people are working through on a daily and weekly basis.

The 40-Day campaign is a chance to grow in your relationship with God and to discover your purpose in life.  Have you ever wondered, “What on earth am I here for?”  If you stick it out for 40 Days, some of you may just find the answer to that question.  Thus for those of you who are working through the 40-Days of Purpose Campaign, I encourage you to keep up the good work.  Before you realize it, you will have made it through the 40 days.  And if you haven’t started, please remember it’s never too late to join us.
