Rancho Agua Viva 2005
Once again, our church will be leading a group of churches from the Northern California area to do ministry in and around Ensenada, Mexico. Our team of seventy will join with a team from the Seattle, Washington area to minister to the folks in Mexico in a variety of ways in early August. There will be a Vacation Bible School team, two sports ministry teams, a medical/dental team, a women’s ministry team and a construction team.
Talk about wild and chaotic. The Vacation Bible School team will most likely do VBS at a church where there will be approximately 200 kids in one room. Bible stories will be shared, object lessons will be given, songs will be sung and a whole lot of ministry will be taking place in a room with a lot of bodies, noise and activity. Yet by God’s grace, He always seems to touch the children through the teams we send down to Mexico.
Some of our sports lover will be playing soccer (or some other sport) in the hot sun with kids from a number of different villages in Mexico. They’ll be running and sweating, but they’ll also be sharing about Jesus Christ. The sports team will sing, share testimonies, bring devotions in addition to playing various sporting events during their time in Mexico.
We have a number of people from the Medical and Dental professions that will be spending their time bringing physical aid in addition to spiritual aid to the people in the villages and towns in and around the Ensenada area. The youth will be sharing Bible stories, songs, and testimonies to the people who come for the free medical and dental services that our team will be offering.
There are a number of mothers who will bring their children to the free Medical and Dental services that our team will be offering. These women often have various issues that they would like to talk about. Well, the Women Ministry team allows them to have a place not only to share, but a place to hear God’s Word and be prayed for.
And of course, the construction teams will be busy working out in the hot sun on some needed project. The range of projects that our teams have done in the past has been quite broad. Our teams have dug through various types of grounds, have helped build house, have helped put up fences, have helped paint building, have helped set up restrooms, and the list goes on. It’s usually a tiring, but rewarding experience.
Please remember to pray for and support our RAV 2005 team in some way. Pray for Dr. Mike Matsumoto as he will once again be the leader of the Northern California team. Please pick up the RAV 2005 team’s prayer letter in foyer for more information on how you can support them.
