SCVJCC Conference Restructuring Resource Center Go Back

The Conference Vision Committee is actively revising the restructuring documents based on inputs received from the conference churches, including SCVJCC. These revised documents are not yet "final", but represent the current vision for the restructuring. It is expected that the revised constitution and bylaws will be submitted for approval by the local churches in the annual business meetings and at the 2010 General Conference. We are making these draft documents available now for your awareness, review, and comment. Final documents will be submitted at some point prior to the annual business meeting if as expected the Vision Committee puts the restructuring up for vote this year. Attached below are the "draft" revised constitution and bylaws. If you have questions or comments, please share them with the SCVJCC pastors, or send them to Dan Schumacher at dgschu@sbcglobal.net who will consolidate the comments received and share them with our pastors and the Vision committee.

The intent of this web page is to provide reference information and summary reviews of the restructuring proposals facing our church conference (i.e. the OMS Society of North America). Please note that this restructuring can have a very significant impact on the local churches and your spiritual life at SCVJCC. We ask that you seriously consider these measures and actively feed us your views so that we can represent your wishes to the Conference Vision Committee. We are reaching a critical stage and need your input to make sure that we are moving forward in the right direction.

Our hope is to facilitate understanding of the measures and to engage your feedback. To that end the justification rationale from the conference is provided as the starting point. Each proposed measure is then attached with a summary description proceeding it as a quick introduction. We encourage you to review these measures. We highly value (and request) your input. Our objective is to understand your thoughts, questions, and/or concerns on these measures.

We plan to hold informal discussion sessions at SCVJCC on Sunday September 13, 2009 at 9:15am (after the 8:00am service) in place of our normal adult study in the social hall, and at 11:15am (after the 10:00am service) in the church conference room. Additional follow-on sessions may also be provided if there is interest. Also, we will invite conference Vision Committee members to our church in October to provide our input and to raise any key questions or concerns. All church members are welcome to this meeting Prior to these sessions we ask for your input via email or by direct discussion with our Pastors, the Deacons, or myself (Dan Schumacher).
