Prayer

Go Back

Prayer is an important part of an individual's relationship with God. It is through prayer that we give Him our thanks and praise; we ask for help in times of need; and we acknowledge and worship His glory and holiness. Join with us in our current prayer or submit a prayer request of your own to info@scvjcc.org, and title it Prayer Requests. Church members are available to pray with and for you and for those you care about.

Prayer at SCVJCC: Prayer is a way of communing with God and also a way of developing a relationship with Him. If we pray according to the will of God, we will discover how powerful prayer can be.

When any member of our church family has a particular need, we pray for him or her. If you are in need of prayer, there are a number of ways to request and receive prayers. To request prayers, including any of the prayer vehicles listed below, simply contact us by e-mail:info@scvjcc.org. For those without e-mail, you may contact the church in person or by phone: (408) 377-0190. If anyone wishes his or her prayer request to be kept confidential, we will provide prayers, while honoring the request for confidentiality.

Small Groups: Our church's small groups pray for people regularly, so you may request a prayer through your own small group or, if you are not a member of a small group, you may ask an individual who belongs to a small group to have their small group pray for you.

E-mail: You may send a prayer request to our church prayer e-mail address: info@scvjcc.org . Your request will be directed to people who are part of our prayer ministry or, if you request it, your prayer may be shared with the church's e-mail list, so members can pray for your need (s).

Phone Tree: We have a phone tree where prayer requests are passed on to church members who participate in this ministry.

After-service Prayer: If anyone wishes to have prayer after the worship service, please speak to one of our pastors and he will direct you to someone who would be happy to pray for you or for someone you care about.

For information about improving your own personal prayer life, please visit the "What we Believe" section of our Web site, where you will find "D. Prayer" under "The Meaning of Discipleship".
