From the Teaching Staff WELCOME BACK! We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing summer and are ready to enjoy another year of expanding on your conversational skills in our "Joy of Learning" classes. We also welcome our new students and are looking forward to meeting and working with you. The primary goal of the teaching staff is as follows: We would like you to become fluent in your conversational skills by providing you with the opportunity to express your opinions in a relaxed environment where mistakes are a part of learning. Reverend Nakao will again bless us with his mini messages of God's love on the first Friday of each month. We appreciate his visual presentations which make his messages so meaningful. Our staff has undergone some changes: After seven years of faithful service, Mrs. Teru Kawaye will resign from her teaching position. We will miss her outstanding contribution as a teacher to the beginners' classes. However she has consented to be on our substitute teacher's list so we are happy that she will not leave us forever. Mrs. Alice Deguchi has taken a leave of absence due to health problems. We are all praying for her fast recovery and hope to see her return soon as a co-teacher with Mrs. Ruth Ellis. Our newest edition to our staff is Mrs. Makiko Dua. She is a retired teacher in the U.S. and born and educated in Japan. We know her bilingual background will be an inspiration to all of you.
